MONROE - The 2012 Green County Fair Master Showman went to Melinda Statz, daughter of Jesse Statz and Anne Statz, Belleville. Kade Allen, son of Roger Allen and Sam Allen, was named Reserve Master Showman.
The seventh annual Green County Master Showman was held at the 2012 Green County Fair on July 21. The event brings in the top senior (grades 10 and above) showmen in the dairy, beef, sheep, swine, goats, rabbits and poultry departments at the fair. Two youth from dairy, beef sheep, swine and goats are invited to participate, with one additional youth selected from the rabbit and poultry divisions.
During the event, 12 members from their 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters show each animal species in a round-robin format. Youth are judged by qualified showmanship judges from the Green County community.
