MONROE - Monroe could see its first significant snowfall of the year Sunday, Dec. 8 as frigid temperatures begin moving into southern Wisconsin this week.
As of Thursday night, Dec. 5, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather statement forecasting light to moderate snow with accumulations of three to six inches for portions of east-central Wisconsin, south-central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin. Local counties affected include Green, Lafayette, Dane and Rock.
Northwest winds are expected to usher in arctic air tonight, Dec. 6 with wind chills dropping to as low as 18 degrees below zero.
The frigid temperatures are expected to last through Wednesday, Dec. 11.
