Retiring teachers, staff to be honored at June 3 event

MONROE - A community reception will be held at Ludlow Mansion on Friday, June 3, from 5 to 6 p.m., to honor more than 20 faculty and staff members who are retiring from the Monroe School District.

The reception is followed by a paid-reservation dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Retiring school district members are:

- Terri Anderson, kindergarten teacher at Parkside Elementary School

- Jane Boll-Gibbons, sixth-grade teacher Monroe Middle School

- Kim Cairy, technology and engineering teacher at Monroe High School

- Karen Fowdy, German teacher at Monroe High School and Monroe Middle School

- Dr. Mary Frantz, former Monroe School District board member

- Barb Grabow, first-grade teacher at Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy

- Lisa Hendrickson, Spanish teacher at Monroe High School and Monroe Middle School

- Loren Homb, sixth-grade teacher at Monroe Middle School

- Terry Hyland, sixth-grade teacher at Monroe Middle School

- Mary Madsen, business and marketing teacher at Monroe High School

- Sandy Martin, Monroe School District bookkeeper - retired in December 2010

- Hope Meier, school nurse, Monroe Middle School - retired at the end of 2010

- Dick Nelson, maintenance, Monroe High School

- Jane Olson, special education aide, Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy

- Susan Pickett, special education aide, Northside

- Ella Sanderson, financial secretary, Monroe High School

- Nancy Schaal, special education teacher, Monroe Middle School

- Randy Schneeberger, band director, Monroe Middle School

- Trudi Stauffacher, Career/Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator, Monroe High School

- Laura Swanson, special education teacher, Monroe High School

- Jane Swiggum, library specialist, Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy
