NEW GLARUS - The "A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians - A Renaissance Faire" will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Wilhlem Tell Grounds.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.
Admission is $5 and children 3 and under are free.
Activities include the Kids Kingdom where children can try to siege the castle or attack a ship with a catapult. The whole family can try their hand at throwing knives and axes or a game of Spanish Towers. A beer garden with a variety of beers, featuring some the local New Glarus brews, will be available.
Entertainment this year includes: Have Court Will Travel, Steadfast Steel, UW Belly Dance, The Pirate Bill Rients, Grey Aengus, Rakhshanda Tribal Belly Dance, Odorferious ThunderBottom, Chelsea Spangler - violinist, St. Martin's Academy - Medieval Martial Arts, Midwest Renaissance Actors Guild, Last Hope Larp, CSG-Milwaukee and Arm Street, Elizabethan Pirate Trio: Sir Frobisher, Sir Hawkyn and Grace O'Malley, The Late Mountebank and the Wonder Elixir of Life Company, Wonder Puppets and Spencer the Squire.
The fair will also include various artisans in the region including: Jackie Creation, Ravenworks, Artisans of the Midwest Renaissance Actors Guild, World of Fairies, Snow Apache, Elysium Armory, Last Hope Larp, Laura Endres-Henna, Rhonda Morningstar - Tarot Cards, Ogre's Den, The Celtic Butterfly Shop, Hissing Serpent Trading Company, Spry Whimsy, Ceramics, Kitten Crochet, Dark River Pottery, Arm Street and Iron Wolfe Forge - Blacksmith.
Vera Cruz Mexican Cuisine, Sugar River Pizza, Little Shop of Cheesecakes and Calli's Pub will have food at the event. Acts and vendors are subject to change.
