MONROE-The Green County Humane Society is sponsoring the "Pawlapalooza" fund-raising campaign including molds designed by area high school students. The goal is to raise funds and awareness for animal welfare, including supporting the spay and neuter program.
The finished molds will be displayed at The Darlington Library today through April 3; in New Glarus, April 3-10; at Pinnow Pharmacy in Brodhead, April 10-17; and at Portraits by Dawn in Monroe, April 17-24.
They will be auctioned off at a wine with hors d'oeurves event on April 24 at the Monroe Country Club.
Reservations for the event are $40 per person and can be made by calling the Monroe Chamber of Commerce at 325-7648.
A raffle is currently underway with a grand prize of $2,000.
First prize is a two-night stay at The Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells; second and third-place prizes of $100 gift certificates to The Beast Buffet and Mounds Pet Food Warehouses.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the GCHS shelter and local businesses including Pick-n-Save and many area taverns and gas stations in Monroe.
Tickets are also available in many locations throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.
