MONROE — A New Glarus man with a previous sexual assault arrest was caught and returned to Dane County on another sex-assault related warrant there on Wednesday.

According to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the N8300 block of Zentner Rd., in the Town of New Glarus. That is where they found and arrested Evan R. Dorn, 28, on the warrant for 3rd Degree Sexual Assault and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

“Evan was taken into custody without incident,” said a statement. “A (county) line meet was coordinated and Evan was then turned over to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.”

The sheriff’s office did not immediately provide information on the new Dane County case.

In 2016, Dorn was found guilty of a Class A misdemeanor charge of having sex with a child over 16 after pleading no contest to the charge. Dorn was also fined $443 in court fees.

He faced 60 days in jail if he did not comply with the court-ordered terms of an agreement

The Green County charge stemmed from an incident in March of 2015 when the victim reported Dorn had inappropriately touched her in his vehicle while parked at a truck stop on County N. Dorn, who was 20 at the time, then initiated sexual contact, allegedly without her consent. The victim claimed Dorn assaulted her at least three times during the incident. But Dorn argued that the victim had initiated the contact.

Two Class G felony charges of 3rd-degree sexual assault and two Class I felony charges of exposing genitals to a child were dismissed at that time.

Dorn was scheduled for a March 24 appearance on the charges in Dane County Circuit Court.
