MONROE - A 28-year-old was charged this week with stealing more than $10,000 while employed at a Monroe car repair shop.
Abiga James Terrell, Monroe, faces a Class H felony charge of theft in a business setting and two Class A misdemeanor counts of theft, filed in Green County Circuit Court Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Terrell stole more than $9,000 from customers at Schulz Automative, 705 30th St., while employed there between November 2012 and November 2013, court records allege.
He also reportedly stole at least $900 worth of inventory and property from the shop and scammed a customer for the title to a Volkswagen Jetta valued at $2,500 by falsely representing that he would rebuild a semi-truck engine for a Monroe resident and cover all parts and labor in exchange for the transfer of the title to himself.
Terrell's signature bond is set at $7,000 with the conditions that he maintain residence in Green County and not leave Wisconsin except to attend holiday functions in his native Arkansas.
A preliminary hearing in his case is set for Dec. 30.
