Illinois State Police district announces Oct. activity

PECATONICA, Ill. — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of October. 

Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 623 total citations and 640 written warnings during the month. Speed violations accounted for 301 citations. Sixty-nine citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 31 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations.

Troopers investigated 39 traffic crashes and assisted 101 motorists. There were 101 commercial motor vehicle inspections completed with 13 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.

Troopers made 11 arrests for driving under the influence and 18 criminal arrests. Seven enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. 

District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, investigated no traffic fatalities in October.
