GRATIOT - The Village of Gratiot has applied to the Department of Natural Resources for a grant from the ATV program for $249,878 and a Recreational Trails Act Grant for $249,878 to facilitate the development and construction of a restroom and shower facility to serve the Cheese County Trail at the Wolf Creek Park campground in the village.
This facility will greatly improve the services offered by the campground and will serve the community well, according to village officials.
The DNR has made a preliminary determination that the proposed project will not involve significant adverse environmental impacts, and neither an environmental assessment nor environmental impact statement will be required for this action.
Public comments on the preliminary determination, as well as the proposed project, are welcome. Comments should be received by Tim Panzer, Department of Natural Resources, by Nov. 14. Written comments can be sent to him at 3911 Fish Hatchery Road, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Comments can also be e-mailed to timothy.panzer@wisconsin.gov or by phone (608) 275-3219.
