Governor Evers approves Wis. 78 improvements in Lafayette Co.
Road Work Zone

LAFAYETTE COUNTY — To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $2.2 million contract to reconstruct Wis. 78 between Wis. 11 and County D in Lafayette County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin April 24, 2023.

Iverson Construction is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to resurface Wis. 78 between Wis. 11 in Gratiot and County D in Wiota, this project will also update curb ramps and replace existing pavement markings.

During construction, Wis. 78 will be open to traffic under flagging operations. Wis. 78 will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations during milling and paving work.

Project completion is scheduled for July 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
