MONROE — Country Financial Representatives Douglas Walker and Chelsea White showed their support to the Monroe Fire Department with donations for fundraising efforts.

Walker and White donated $1,500 each, a total of $3,000, in support of the department’s training facilities. The pair raised an additional $4,000 from a fundraising golf outing, bringing the total to $7,000.

“First responders do so much for our community,” said Walker. “The least we can do is to help them be well prepared through proper training supporting their lifesaving work.”

“By ensuring these firefighters have adequate training facilities, we do more than keep community members safe. We help these local heroes stay safe themselves in the performance of their duties,” added White.

In 2022, Walker and White raised funds for the Monroe Police Department. In 2024, the team will be focusing on support for the Green County EMS Department.

Country Financial has donated more than $5 million since 2020 to organizations and programs that support first responders, active-duty service members and veterans, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers.
