MONROE — On Tuesday, March 10:

●  John Lawrence, 84, rural Albany, was taken to a hospital by Albany EMS for treatment of injuries he sustained in a vehicle vs. milk truck crash reported at 2:55 p.m. at County EE and County X/Tin Can Road, Town of Albany. He was westbound on County EE while Eric Peterson, 54, rural Monroe, was at the stop sign on Tin Can Road. Peterson did not see Lawrence and continued north through the intersection. Peterson’s milk truck struck Lawrence’s vehicle, sending it into the northwest ditch, where it overturned with Lawrence trapped inside. Lawrence’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed. Peterson was uninjured. His milk truck sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. A citation for failure to yield right-of-way is pending for Peterson.

●  Deputies responded at 4:29 p.m. to a report of a bus vs. vehicle crash on Wis. 59 at Weiss Lane, Town of Monroe, in which one of the drivers had left the scene. An investigation found a school bus driven by James Wells, 78, Monroe, was eastbound on Wis. 59 when Wells started to slow to turn onto Weiss Lane. A vehicle behind him, driven by Dawn Seavert, 40, Evansville, collided with the back of the bus. She checked on Wells and when he said he was OK, she returned to her vehicle and drove away. She was later located and spoken with about the crash. Neither Wells nor Seavert reported injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Citations for no vehicle insurance, failure to report a crash to law enforcement and failure to maintain control control are pending for Seavert. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

On Wednesday, March 11:

●  A two-vehicle crash with injuries was reported at 3:03 p.m. in the Town of Jefferson. Carissa K. Hamilton, 28, Albany, was northbound on Richland Road when she attempted to turn westbound onto Wis. 11. Her vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle on Wis. 11 driven by Tamara J. Hahn, 54, Brodhead. Hahn sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. Hamilton reported no injuries. Her vehicle sustained functional damage and was later driven from the scene by a valid driver. Hamilton was cited for driving with a suspended license, no vehicle insurance, failure to obey a traffic sign and failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. The Juda and Monroe fire departments assisted on scene.

●  Kourtney E. A. Walter, 17, Monroe, and her two passengers reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash in the N2300 block of Haddinger Road, Town of Clarno, at 6:09 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Walter was northbound when she lost control, causing her vehicle to enter the east ditch and hit a fence and a tree. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Walter was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Monday, March 9:

●  A rollover crash was reported at 10:14 p.m. on County N, Town of Argyle. The Argyle Fire Department and Argyle EMS responded. An investigation found Sydney E. Parkos, 16, Barneveld, was southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her 2007 Saturn entered the ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels. Minor injuries were reported, but EMS was declined. Parkos was cited for driving too fast for conditions, failure to keep a vehicle under control, failure to notify police of an accident, violation of Absolute Sobriety Law with a passenger younger than 16, underage drinking and smoking cigarettes. Her passenger, a 15-year-old Barneveld boy, was cited for possession of alcohol, underage drinking and obstructing an officer. Both were released to a parent or guardian.

On Tuesday, March 10:

●  Katelyn E. Woodruff, 24, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 6:07 a.m. on Hill Lane, Town of Blanchard. No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, March 11;

●  Kathryn A. Varner reported hitting a deer at 8:05 a.m. on County N, Town of Blanchard.

On Thursday, March 12:

●  William D. Buss, 53, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 5:52 a.m. on County E, Town of Darlington. The 2011 Jeep sustained minor damage.

On Saturday, March 14:

●  Jerry G. Huxtable, 54, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 8:12 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. No injuries were reported. The 2011 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage.

On Sunday, March 15:

●  Amanda L. Risser, 37, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7:38 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. No injuries were reported. The 2018 Dodge sustained minor damage.
