MONROE — A hit-and-run accident was reported at 3:31 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 1400 block of 17th Street. Investigation revealed Scott R. Neuenschwander, 61, Monroe, backed into a parked vehicle then fled. He was later located. He was charged with operating while intoxicated, his first offense. He was also cited for hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle and unsafe backing. He was released to a responsible party.

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 1:12 p.m. Dec. 6 in the N2200 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. Lindsay R. Baker, 35, Orangeville, was northbound when a southbound vehicle lost items it was hauling on the roadway causing Baker to hit them. The other vehicle continued on without the driver being identified. Baker’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. It was towed.
Darlington Police
DARLINGTON — Douglas W.M. Champion, 28, Shullsburg, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 1:10 a.m. Dec. 5 on Galena Street as a result of police observing him crash into a yard and causing significant damage and fleeing on foot. After a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody. Charges of resisting/obstructing an officer and operating motor vehicle without owner’s consent are being transferred to the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office. He was also cited for failure to maintain control and unreasonable and imprudent speed. He sustained minor injuries. He was transported to the Lafayette County Jail. He was jailed.

On Nov. 27:
● No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 8:38 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. Julian Delacruz-Martinez, 36, Darlington, lost control of his vehicle and entered the ditch and rolled several times. His 2005 Dodge sustained severe damage. It was towed. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS assisted.
● Jerome L. Keaton, 22, Aurora, was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained from a single-vehicle accident at 1:58 p.m. on County J, Town of Benton. He lost control of his vehicle causing him to exit the roadway, enter the ditch and hit a utility pole. His 2010 Nissan sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Benton Fire, Benton First Response, Cuba City EMS and Alliant Energy assisted.
● Darwin B. Cushman, 58, Platteville, reported being hit by another vehicle at 3:31 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont. Belmont Fire and Belmont EMS assisted.
● No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 1:39 p.m. Nov. 29 on County U, Town of White Oak Springs. Dean A. McKillip, 54, Shullsburg, was northbound and did not stop at the stop sign and hit a westbound vehicle on County W operated by Joshua R. Hartwig, 41, Cuba City. Both vehicles sustained moderate to severe damage. Both were towed.
On Nov. 30:
● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover at 11:31 a.m. on Wis 11, Town of Shullsburg. James M. Kness, 67, Platteville, was westbound when he fell asleep, crossed the center line and overcorrected causing him to overturn. His vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. Shullsburg Fire and EMS assisted.
● Tracy L. Lange, 42, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 5:31 p.m. on Wayne Center Road, Town of Wayne. Her 2017 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage.
● Courtney D. Johnson, 27, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 7:14 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.
