MONROE POLICE 

MONROE — A motor vehicle accident was reported at 8:52 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 2700 block of 8 1/2 Street. Ashlyn R. Sheafor, 21, Monroe, was traveling on 8 1/2 St. when she hit a legally parked vehicle. She was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and prohibited alcohol concentration. She was also cited for open intoxicants in vehicle and making an improper right-hand turn. She was released to a responsible party. 

On Aug. 7:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:28 p.m. in the 1000 block of Wis. 69. John H. Burggraf, 74, Janesville, was traveling south when he rear-ended another southbound vehicle operated by a 36-year-old Monroe woman who slowed down to make a turn. Burggraf’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. The other vehicle sustained minor damage. Burggraf was cited for following too closely.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Minor injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 3:36 p.m. Aug. 6 in the W4300 block of Gilbertson Road, Town of Mt. Pleasant. Joseph K. Murphy, 47, Monroe, was eastbound when a vehicle traveling west crossed the centerline, causing him to enter the south shoulder and sideswiping a guard rail. His vehicle sustained moderate damage. 

On Aug. 7: 

●  Carmen F. Ott, 68, Monroe, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for injuries sustained from a single-vehicle crash at 12:25 p.m. in the N2000 block of Allen Road, Town of Cadiz. He was operating a moped and traveling south when he lost control and entered the ditch and crashed. His moped sustained damage. It was towed. He was not wearing a helmet. He was arrested on a seventh-offense felony charge of operating under the influence and bail jumping. He was jailed. 

●  A deputy observed a single-vehicle crash at 5 p.m. in the W6600 block of County Y, Town of Jordan. Kyle J. Black, 17, Monroe, was northbound on Rufenacht Road and drove onto County Y. He then left the roadway and went down an embankment entering a cornfield and came to a rest. His vehicle sustained damage. It was towed. He was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control. 

On Aug. 8: 

●  A damaged stop sign and corn field was reported at 10:28 a.m. on County F and Pfeuti Road, Town of Mt. Pleasant. Investigation revealed Tyler J. Dahl, 23, Albany, was operating a UTV on private land at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 7 when he lost control and entered a corn field causing damage to the crops. The UTV then hit an embankment and went airborne entering the roadway, hit a stop sign and entered a field and came to a rest. The UTV was removed. 

●  A single-vehicle crash was reported at 5:15 p.m. in the N4300 block of Park Road, Town of Decatur. The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigation revealed the vehicle was northbound when it exited the roadway and hit a cement barrier. The vehicle then entered a field and came to a rest. The vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. The crash remains under investigation. 

On. Aug. 10:

A single-vehicle crash was reported at 7:03 a.m. Aug. 10 in the N5000 block of Wis. 104, Town of Albany. The driver fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Investigation revealed the vehicle was westbound on County B in Rock County and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Wis. 104 and hit a traffic sign. The vehicle entered the west ditch, in Green County, collided with an embankment and came to rest in a field. The vehicle sustained severe damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. The crash remains under investigation.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — Angela R. Diaz, 43, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 2:11 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot. Her 2018 Dodge sustained severe damage. It was towed. 

●  Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 11:43 a.m. Aug. 6 on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Michael J. Fink, 65, Darlington, was pulling out of a driveway when he was hit by a vehicle operated by Kerry J. Black, 69, Darlington. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. They were towed. Darlington Fire, Darlington Police Department and Lafayette County EMS assisted. 

On Aug. 7: 

●  Dylan D. Gile, 30, Sun Prairie, was transported by Shullsburg EMS to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County for injuries sustained from a one-vehicle rollover at 1:09 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. He was westbound when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to exit the roadway and rollover several times. His 2020 Ford sustained severe damage. It was towed. He was cited for operating while intoxicated and failure to keep vehicle under control. Shullsburg Fire assisted. 

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 5:51 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne. Edgar Mendez-Aguilar, 24, Platteville, was northbound when he swerved to miss a deer causing him to lose control and exit the roadway hitting a pine tree. His vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. Gratiot First Response and South Wayne Fire Department assisted. 

●  Alice M. Gilman, 61, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 8:55 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Her vehicle sustained minor damage. 

On Aug. 9:

Nicole M. Paulson, 26, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 12:23 p.m. Aug. 9 on Wis. 78, Town of Wiota. Her 2015 Hyundai sustained severe damage. It was towed.
