William R. Endrulat, age 84 of Browntown, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at his home. He was born on July 18, 1931 in Holstein, Iowa, the son of William J. and Hulda (Kistenmacher) Endrulat. Bill graduated from Holstein High School in 1949 and was recruited to play football at Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954. He was transferred to Monroe while working for the Dubuque Packing Company. Bill married Glenda Hasse on September 20, 1958 at St. John's United Church of Christ. He was also employed as a livestock buyer for Oscar Mayer for 16 years, as a market manager for Equity Livestock for 17 years, and farmed along with his wife in Cadiz Township all their married life. Bill was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan, and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda "Chub" Endrulat of Browntown; two daughters, Ann (Steve) Phillipps of New Glarus, and Mary (Steve) Johnson of Mt. Horeb; grandchildren, Hillary, Casey (Michelle), Russ, Joni, Logan, and Jacy Phillipps, and Cort, Cale, and Carter Johnson; a sister, Rosie Bauman; a brother, Harry (Esther) Endrulat, both of Holstein, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Chris William; and two sisters, Florence (Ken) Thornhill and Dorathy (Charles) Snyder.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Reverend David Busker officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at Peace United Church of Christ. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund will be established in Bill's name.
