William J. "Bill" McGuire age 56 of Monroe, Wisconsin died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born February 29, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN the son of James and Gloria (Heitz) McGuire. He was a 1974 graduate from Viroqua High School. Bill and Tamara Hasse were married on November 2, 1985 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. He worked for the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse from 1976-78, then for the Viking Construction Company in California from 1978-81. On April 26, 1982 he entered the U.S. Army and served in the Infantry, being Honorably Discharged on December 1, 1983. After his service, Bill worked for McGuire Construction in Monroe for several years, he then owned and operated McGuire Trucking for 5 years and later started the McGuire Agency which he operated until the present. Bill was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the Green Co. ATV Club and the Monroe Country Club.

Surviving is his wife, Tammy Hasse-McGuire; daughter, Amanda McGuire; son, Trevor McGuire all of Monroe; mother, Gloria McGuire of Viroqua; brother, Michael (Nancy) McGuire of Holmen and their children, Brittany (Kurt) Larson, Sean (Tina) McGuire, brother, Kevin McGuire of LaCrosse, brother, Brian (Wendy) McGuire of Mauston and their children Seth (Kelly) McGuire, James (Tara) McGuire, sister, Teresa Hulse of Onalaska and her children, Eric Hulse, Aaron Hulse, brother, Patrick (Terri) McGuire of Viroqua and their children, Ryan McGuire, Rachel McGuire; aunts, Nancy McGuire, Marie (Ken) Potts, Kathryn (Nick) Elmquist, Gail (James) Siebert; uncle, Robert (Judie) Heitz. He is predeceased by his father, James; paternal grandparents, Michael and Florence McGuire; maternal grandparents, Leland and Edna Heitz; brother-in-law, Dr. Richard Hulse; uncle, John McGuire; uncle & aunt, Joseph and Shirley McGuire.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe with Fr. Larry Bakke Celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military rites in Monroe.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, with a Rosary at 7:15, at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Bill's memory.
