Wayne Peterson, 59, passed away September 11, 2009 at the Veteran's Hospital in Tomah, Wisconsin from cancer. He was the son of the late Thomas and Bessie (Kading) Peterson.
He is survived by his daughter, Nichole, Freeport, Ill, and her mother, Connie Peterson; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Jeanette) Lane of Monroe; a brother, Roger (Rita) Peterson of Port Byron, Ill.; and step-brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Harry (Ruth) Olson and a brother, Arthur and his wife, Lillian.
The graduate of South Wayne High School served in the armed forces. After discharge, he graduated from Fennimore Technical College's body school. He had a shop in Durand, Ill.; worked for Structo and the Freeport school system and then he moved to Sparta where he was in construction at Fort McCoy.
He will be remembered for his strength to overcome a handicap and his special love for his daughter, Nichole. He will be missed by his family and friends.
