BRODHEAD - Wanda Jean Lewis, age 77, of Brodhead, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born on April 6, 1931 in Cadiz Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Erwin and Alice (Wire) Weckerly. She married Lee Allen Lewis on August 10, 1958 in Shannon, IL. He passed away on August 18, 2002.
Wanda had worked for Advance Transformer of Monroe for 26 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed crocheting, raising 'show' rabbits, and also puzzles, birds, flowers, and family. She was a member of the Brodhead Garden Club.
She is survived by eight sons, Danny (Rhonda) Lewis, Chris Lewis, Andy (Deborah) Lewis, all of Brodhead, Steve Lewis, Freeport, IL, Jeff (Sharon) Lewis, Orangeville, IL, Mike (Bev) Campbell, Shannon, IL, Russ (Cheryl) Campbell, Clinton, WI , Ken (Brenda) Campbell, Freeport, IL; two daughters, Melanie (Loren) Johnson, Bonnie Campbell, both of Monroe; a sister, Charlene (Eugene) Eddy, Genoa City, WI; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Walter and Merton Weckerly, two sons, Kelvin and Curtis Campbell, and twin grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Steve Barr officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
