BRODHEAD - Valerie A. Reichling, age 90, of Brodhead, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born in Alberta, Canada on October 5, 1920, the daughter of William and Vella (Finney) Gokey. She married Robert H. Reichling on November 27, 1947 in Belvidere, IL.
Val established the first antique store and art fair in Brodhead. She also had been an active member of the VFW Auxiliary and loved oil painting, bowling, and writing poetry. She'll always be remembered for her great sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband Bob, of Brodhead, two sons, Bill and Gene (Sally) Schroeder, both of Oshkosh, a daughter, Robin Schroeder, granddaughter, Crystal Hester, both of Janesville, several other grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Don Utznek, Necedah, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Schroeder, a daughter, Shannon Utznek, and a brother, Bill Gokey.
