MONROE - No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of 14th Avenue in New Glarus. Nancy Lopez Torres, 39, New Glarus, was eastbound when she met a westbound vehicle driven by Charles Schenkel, 84, New Glarus. The vehicles side-swiped before coming to rest in the road. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

On Thursday:

• Lucinda A. Walters, 57, Monroe, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 1:30 a.m. on Wisconsin 11. She was westbound on Wis. 11 and attempting to turn south onto Steiner Road when she swerved to avoid a deer in the road, lost control of her vehicle and went into the ditch, striking an embankment. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

• No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 6:16 a.m. in the N8100 block of Wis. 104. Kerry A. Buehl, 51, Brodhead, was northbound when he attempted to pass a slowing vehicle driven by Arnold L. Hansen, Jr., 44, Brodhead. It was reported that Hansen failed to signal a turn and collided with Buehl's passing vehicle. Hansen then fled the scene on foot. Buehl's vehicle was towed. He was warned for passing into traffic making a left turn. Hansen's vehicle sustained minor left front damage and was towed. Hansen will be cited for driving with a revoked license, failure to indicate a turn and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

• No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:52 a.m. on East Wisconsin Avenue near South Monroe Street in Monticello. Kollin D. Klitzke, 16, Monticello, was turning onto East Wisconsin Avenue when the sun obstructed his vision and he collided with a legally parked pickup truck and trailer belonging to John W. Blum, 82, Monticello. Klitzke and his passenger were uninjured. His vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed. Blum's truck and trailer were damaged and he later removed both from the scene.

• A car vs. deer crash was reported by John E. Bartlett in the N1900 block of Bethel Road, Town of Clarno.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Nathan M. Schlafli, 60, Argyle, reported no injuries at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday after hitting a deer on Wisconsin 81, Town of Lamont. Schlafli's 2001 Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
