NEW GLARUS POLICE
NEW GLARUS - On Friday:
The New Glarus Police and Fire departments responded at 1:36 a.m. to a crash on Wisconsin 69 in Dane County.
No injuries were reported at 4:46 p.m. after a two-vehicle crash in the 10 block of 5th Avenue. Moderate damage was reported to each vehicle.
Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 8:45 p.m. with a car-versus-deer crash in the W7700 block of Wis. 69.
GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF
MONROE - On Friday, no injuries were reported after Jeffrey M. Makos, 52, Monticello, struck a deer in the W6900 block of County B, Town of Clarno.
On Saturday:
A driver was injured at 2:34 p.m. after Dean R. Baumgartner, 64, Monroe, lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole on County N, Town of Washington. Baumgartner was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
Five people were injured at 4:12 p.m. after a two-vehicle crash in the N3900 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe. Beth A. Carlson, 52, Clinton, Iowa, fell asleep while driving and crossed into the opposite lane, where she struck a vehicle driven by Scott A. Berry, 40, New Glarus. Carlson and her 14-year-old passenger reported injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Berry and his two passengers, children aged 8 and 6, also reported injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. Carlson was cited for driving left of center.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF
DARLINGTON - On Friday, no injuries were reported at 6:40 p.m. after Jerome E. Melland, 51, South Wayne, struck a parked vehicle in the parking area of the Chalet Campgrounds. The parked vehicle was unoccupied and sustained moderate damage.
On Saturday, no injuries were reported at 9:36 p.m. after Carie R. Rackow, 47, struck a deer on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
