Monroe Police

MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 12th Street and 11th Avenue. Police report a vehicle operated by Mary Jo Mau, 54, Browntown, collided with a vehicle operated by Lindsey M. Conkey, 19, Freeport. Mau was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign and released pending court.

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on County CC at County W in the Town of Exeter. Deputies report Cory A. Riley, 20, New Glarus, was southbound on County CC when he traveled through the stop sign at the intersection, entered a field and came to a rest. The vehicle received moderate undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene. Riley sustained injuries, but refused treatment at the scene. Riley was cited for driving too fast for conditions, failing to stop at a stop sign and mandatory seatbelt violations. He was released pending court. Investigation revealed dense fog and speed are contributing factors in the crash. New Glarus Police Department also responded.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of County J at County C in Adams township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Diane G. Brubakken, 26, Argyle, was traveling east on County C and she did not see the stop sign at the intersection in time due to the dense fog. Brubakken collided with a highway sign. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 a.m., Wednesday on Golf Course Road, near Oak View Court, in Decatur Township. Deputies report Jack B. Pierce, 83, Brodhead, was driving north on Golf Course Road in foggy conditions when he crested a hill and struck a tree that had fallen into the roadway, blocking the northbound traffic lane. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• Cynthia E. Hoesly, 23, New Glarus, was southbound on Wis. 69 when a deer collided with her vehicle at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the N7500 Block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus Township. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Robin R. Reuter, 56, Monticello, was northbound when a deer collided with his vehicle at about 7 p.m. Wednesday on County N, south of Buehler Road, in the Town of Monroe. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
