Traffic Accidents: June 9, 2011

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 4:08 a.m Tuesday on County H, east of County J, in the Town of New Glarus. Deputy Dani Jackson hit a deer. There was minor damage to the vehicle and it was driven from the scene. Monroe Police Department completed the crash documentation.

- Christine K. Nipple, 46, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, in the north 7000 block of County J in the Town of Adams. There was minor damage to the vehicle and was driven from the scene. Nipple and her passenger had no injuries.

- Jennifer E Moen, 30, Argyle, was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle at 8:49 a.m. Tuesday, in the north 9400 block of County Y. Moen lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree, while reportedly attempting to put her hair in a ponytail. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from scene.

- Samantha E. Stoneback, 20, Monroe, was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle after a two-vehicle accident at 3:16 p.m. Tuesday on Wis. 69, south of Advance Road, in the Town of Clarno. Hannah L. Wichmann, 22, Orangeville, was northbound on Wis. 69 attempting to turn into the residence in the north 700 block of Wis. 69, when she was rear-ended by Stoneback. Wichmann had one passenger in her vehicle, a two-year-old, and Stoneback had one passenger in her vehicle, Connie J. Stoneback, 46, Monroe. Wichmann's vehicle received severe damage but was driven from the scene. Stoneback's vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. All four occupants were transported by EMS to the Monroe ER injuries.

- Sue A. Blaser, 63, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 9:28 p.m. Tuesday, in the west 9100 block of Wis. 11, in the Town of Cadiz. There was moderate damage to the vehicle, but it was driven from the scene.

- Michael W. Christen, 23, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 9:28 p.m. on Wis. 69, south of Abels Road. There was moderate damage to the vehicle, but Christen was able to remove it from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Minor injuries reported from a one-vehicle accident at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday, on Wis. 23 in the Town of Willow Spring. Melissa S. Toay, 39, Mineral Point, was southbound on Wis. 23 when she became distracted by her child in a car seat in the back seat. Toay lost control of the vehicle, which went into a ditch and rolled onto its roof. Toay and the juvenile was transported to for minor injuries. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
