BRODHEAD POLICE

BRODHEAD - No injuries were reported at 2:59 p.m. on May 31 after a delivery truck backed into a street sign in the 500 block of East 3rd Avenue.



GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE - On Friday:

• A motorcyclist was injured at 1:45 p.m. after a car vs. motorcycle collision in the N7200 block of Dougherty Creek Road, Town of Adams. Douglas E. Kiel, 63, Blanchardville, struck a motorcycle driven by Blake L. Schneider, 62, Argyle, while turning onto Dougherty Creek Road. Schneider was injured and was transported to a local hospital. Kiel's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene. The motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

• No injuries were reported at 3:51 p.m. after a two-vehicle crash in the N3100 block of Wis. 81, Town of Monroe. Marjory G. Lichtenberg, 95, Monroe, failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and struck the vehicle of Mark A. Sherven, 63, Mount Horeb. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage; Sherven's was driven from the scene, while Lichtenberg's was towed.

• No injuries were reported at 11:59 p.m. after Alec J. Salter, 20, Robins, Iowa, reportedly fell asleep while driving in the W7800 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz, and entered a ditch, where his vehicle overturned. Salter's vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

On Saturday, a hit-and-run was reported at 8:55 p.m. in the W700 block of Golf Course Road, Town of Decatur. A dark-colored vehicle, reportedly older in style, backed into an unoccupied truck and left the scene. The truck sustained very minor damage. LAFAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• Two drivers were injured at 5:48 p.m. after a two-vehicle accident on Wis. 126, Town of Elk Grove. Jay L. Ufkin, 20, Lyndon, Illinois, failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by Gustavo Mendez-Gonzalez, 55, Darlington. Ufkin and Mendez-Gonzalez were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Ufkin was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign while Mendez-Gonzalez was cited for driving without a valid license. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene.

• A driver was injured at 6:42 p.m. after Antonio Avelino-Velasco, 24, Belmont, rear-ended the vehicle of James L. McGuire, 70, Darlington, who had slowed for a slower vehicle on County G, Town of Kendall. Avelino-Velasco was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and was arrested for driving while intoxicated and cited for driving without a valid license, without vehicle insurance and inattentive driving. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.

On Sunday, no injuries were reported at 7:40 p.m. after Kevin M. Johnson, 51, Darlington, struck a parked vehicle owned by Kurt Malott, 45, Belmont, while backing out of a driveway. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.
