New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 4:01 p.m. Friday at the Ampride station. Reports indicate that a vehicle hit a cement pole located by the fuel pumps. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 10:07 p.m. Saturday, in the N7400 block of County E, in the Town of Brooklyn. Reports indicate that Jacob M. Hopkins, 18, Camilla, Ga., was northbound on County E when he reportedly swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. Hopkins lost control of the vehicle, entered the south ditch then overcorrected and entered the north ditch, where the vehicle rolled. He was treated on scene for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Hopkins was cited for mandatory seatbelt requirement and was released.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - George E. Hirsbrunner, 77, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 11:10 a.m. Friday on County Z in the Town of Darlington - after hitting the animal the previous night. The vehicle had moderate damage.

- Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 8:20 a.m. Saturday on Whiteside Road in the Town of Argyle. Reports indicate that Julie A Mason, 29, Argyle, was westbound on Whiteside Road, when she failed to negotiate a curve. Mason lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid across the road and into the opposite ditch, where the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its roof. Mason was treated on the scene but refused transport. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed at the scene. Mason was cited for operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of vehicle. She was released.

- No injuries were reported from a traffic accident at 12:35 a.m. Sunday on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Willow Springs. Reports indicate that Nicholas J. King, 20, Darlington, was southbound on Wis. 23, when he fell asleep, causing him to loose control. The vehicle drifted off into the right ditch, rolled onto its side, and eventually came back onto the pavement. The vehicle had moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 8:27 p.m. Sunday on County B, in the Town of Wayne. Reports indicate that Renee C. Mau, 22, South Wayne, hit a deer. The vehicle had moderate damage.
