Traffic Accidents: June 17, 2011

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 5:22 a.m. Wednesday on County KK at Coplien Road in the Town of Monroe. Reports indicate that the vehicle Travis L. Murray, 27, Brodhead, was driving left the roadway and collided with a ditch, an embankment and stop sign. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Murray was arrested for a third-offense operating while intoxicated, obstruction, and a failure to pay fine warrant issued by Albany Police Department. Murray was jailed. The passenger, Lyndsay J. Zimmerlee, 29, Monroe, received an injury but declined medical treatment. Zimmerlee was arrested for obstruction and released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 9:34 a.m. Wednesday on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Willow Springs. Reports indicate Jessica P. Gust, 19, Mount Horeb, was traveling southbound when she lost control and traveled off the roadway and into the ditch. Gust was transported by EMS and treated for injuries received in the accident. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed from the scene. Gust was arrested for driving while impaired, driving with no driver's license, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gust remains jailed.

- No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle accident at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in a driveway on Sand Hill Road in the Town of Wiota. Charles A. Wiegel, 53, Argyle, reported that he was backing out of his garage when he hit an unoccupied vehicle belonging to Paul Wiegel, Blanchardville. Both vehicles received moderate damage.
