Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Jan. 25:

• No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle crash at 4:16 a.m. in the W5800 block of County P in the Town of Clarno. Michael T. Binns, 57, Freeport, Illinois, was eastbound on County P when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a fence and then a traffic sign. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed. Binns was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control and was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Jan. 25:

• No injuries were reported when Jacqueline K. Ruf, 80, Darlington, struck a deer on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township. Ruf's 2015 Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• No injuries were reported when Jane S. Parkinson, 60, Monroe, struck a deer at 6:34 p.m. on Wis. 78, Argyle Township. Parkinson's 2016 Nissan sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• No injuries were reported when Tyler M. Bongiovanni, 20, Darlington, struck a deer at 11:10 p.m. on Wis. 81, Lamont Township. Bongiovanni's 2017 Jeep sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.



Monroe Police

MONROE - On Jan. 25:

• Injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 3:33 p.m. at 13th Avenue and 20th Street. Tina K. Straws, 54, Monroe, collided with a vehicle operated by a 50-year-old Monroe man. Straws reported a minor injury but declined medical transport. Both vehicles sustained severe damages and were towed. Straws was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign, and was released pending a court appearance.

• No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 4:51 p.m. at 3rd Avenue and 10th Street. Donna M. Anderson, 82, Monroe, collided with a vehicle operated by a 72-year-old Monroe woman. The vehicles sustained minor to moderate damages. Anderson was cited for failure to yield right of way from a driveway, and was released pending a court appearance.
