Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Tuesday:

• David A. Elmer, 73, Brodhead, and his passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N8300 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn, at 9:53 p.m. Elmer was southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit the front-end of his vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Login G. Swearingen, 17, Blanchardville, was cited at 9:58 p.m. for failure to maintain control of his vehicle after his vehicle hit a ditch at the intersection of County B and County M, Town of Cadiz. Swearingen was uninjured in the crash. He was southbound on County M and initially told deputies he swerved to avoid a deer but later retracted and said his vehicle went through the T-intersection and into the ditch. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was towed from the scene. Swearingen was warned for obstruction for saying he swerved to miss a deer, and he was released pending court.

On Wednesday:

• No injuries were reported after deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident at 3:48 a.m. on Wisconsin 11 at County GG, Town of Spring Grove. Tyler M. McRae, 23, Juda, reported he and a passenger were traveling west on Wis. 11 when a semi-truck failed to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. McRae reported he swerved to try and avoid hitting the semi-truck. McRae's vehicle hit a stop sign in the median and entered a ditch in the northwest corner of the intersection. The semi-truck left the scene. McRae was cited for non-registration and operating a vehicle without insurance. McRae was released pending court. McRae's vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• Loretta A. Vannatta, 54, Monroe, was uninjured in an accident at 4:28 p.m. in the W4900 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. Vannatta was traveling west on Wis. 11 when a silver colored four-door vehicle pulled alongside her vehicle, also traveling westbound. Vannatta reported something was thrown or flew from the silver vehicle, causing her front driver's-side window to shatter. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The suspect vehicle was not located.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday:

• Terry A. Feltmeyer, 54, Stockton, Ill., was uninjured after hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 11, Wayne Township, at 8:24 a.m. The vehicle was moderately damaged.

• Jason Shaw, 38, Sandwich, Ill., was uninjured after his vehicle hit a deer on Wis. 11, Wayne Township, at 6:42 p.m.
