Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported in a hit-and-run accident in the 1300 block of 17th Avenue, which was reported at about 10 p.m. Monday. Deputies report Jelcrinis J. Gibson, 39, Monroe, struck a parked vehicle owned by Janet A. Morgan, 79, Monroe. The vehicles received minor damage. Gibson was arrested for driving while intoxicated, first offense; driving with a prohibited alcohol concentrate, first offense; hit and run to an unattended vehicle; failure to notify police of an accident; and driving too fast for conditions. He was jailed.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 4:45 p.m. Monday on Wis. 59 east of Suburban Road in the Town of Albany. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Victoria R. Brookman, 17, Freeport, was westbound when she lost control on snow-covered, slippery roads. The vehicle entered the ditch and collided with a tree. Brookman had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle received severe overall damage and was towed from the scene. Albany EMS and Fire Department also responded.

- No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at about 9 a.m. Monday on Amidon Road west of Benson Road in Brooklyn Township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Sally A. Baxter, 48, Brodhead, was westbound when she collided with a snow drift, causing her vehicle to go into the ditch. A second vehicle driven by Douglas R. Albright, 54, Evansville, encountered strong crosswinds, blowing snow and the same snow drift. Albright lost control, went into the ditch and collided with Baxter. Both vehicles received moderate rear-end damage. The Albright vehicle was driven from the scene. The Baxter vehicle was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 9 a.m. Monday on County EE at County E in the town of Albany. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Matthew P. Solchenberger, 30, rural Albany, was turning west off County E onto County EE when his vehicle slid into the guardrail. The vehicle received moderate damage.

- No injuries were reported from one-vehicle accident on the bridge on Wis. 92 near Remy Road in the Town of Exeter, after Green County Deputies discovered a damaged guard rail at abut 9:15 a.m. Monday. They report a vehicle driven by Ruth E. Wyttenbach, 53, rural Belleville, was northbound when she encountered a slippery spot, lost control and impacted the guard rail. The vehicle received moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene. Deputies had located Wyttenbach at her residence before she reported the crash.

Lafayette County Sheriff

- No injuries were reported in a one vehicle accident at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in U.S. Highway 151 in the Town of Kendall. Deputies report Darcy J. Carlson, 32, Madison, swerved to miss a deer and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled of the road and down an embankment.

- Elizabeth S. Wettstein, 19, Janesville, reported striking a deer at about 11:45 p.m. Friday in Wis. 11 in the Town of South Wayne. The vehicle received moderate damage.

- Sheryl L. Campbell, 57, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, reported striking a deer at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday on U. S. Highway 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- Shane D. Nodolf, 21, Belmont, reported striking a deer at about 8 p.m. Sunday on County G in the Town of Belmont.

No injuries were reported at a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 a.m. Monday on Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Gratiot. Deputies report Michael R. Luke, 47, Stockton, Ill., lost control of his vehicle as he began to negotiate a corner. The vehicle slid across the road and into the ditch. The vehicle received undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene. The road was slippery and snow-covered at the time of the accident.

- Deputies assisted Wisconsin State Patrol at the scene of a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 a.m. Monday in U. S. Highway 151 in the Town of Belmont. Belmont Fire Department and Belmont Ambulance also responded to the scene. Wisconsin State Patrol completed the accident investigation.

- No injuries or vehicle damage were reported from a vehicle in the ditch at about 11:15 a.m. Monday on Wis. 78 in the Town of Gratiot.

- No injuries or vehicle damage were reported from a vehicle in the ditch at about 3:15 p.m. Monday on U. S. Highway 152 in the Town of Belmont.

- No injuries or vehicle damage were reported from a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch at about 6:30 p.m. Monday on Wis. 23 in the Town of Shullsburg.
