Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday, Jan. 10:

• Georgia L. Linden, 35, Lena, was uninjured following a one-vehicle accident in the N3400 block of Wis. 69 in Monroe Township reported at 3:58 p.m. Linden was southbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions and entered a ditch.

• No injuries were reported at 3:38 p.m. following a one-vehicle accident in the W6800 block of County H in New Glarus Township. Nicole L. Yaun, 36, New Glarus, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions, entered a ditch and struck a fence post.

• No injuries were reported at 5:42 p.m. following a two-vehicle accident on County EE east of River Road in Mount Pleasant Township. Dustin D. Shaw, 29, Black Earth, was eastbound on County EE when an unidentified white, dual-wheel pickup truck collided with his vehicle. The truck fled the area. Shaw's vehicle became stuck in the ditch. His vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Anyone with information regarding the white truck is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department.

• No injuries were reported at 7:17 p.m. after deputies responded to the N8400 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus Township for a motor vehicle fire. Gary D. Gobeli, 60, Monticello, pulled to the shoulder of the roadway after smelling smoke. The vehicle caught fire and sustained severe damage.

• Deputies responded at 7:47 p.m. to Wis. 59 in Albany Township for a two-vehicle accident and multiple vehicles in the ditch. Matthew P. Baumgartner, 22, Monroe, was eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle at a curve on the icy roadway and slid into a vehicle stopped in the westbound lane operated by Mark J. Hanson, 54, Monroe. Hanson had stopped due to road conditions. Hanson sustained injuries but declined treatment. Baumgartner's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene. Hanson's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the ditch. There were four other vehicles towed from the ditch at this location.

• Deputies responded at 8:33 p.m. to the N5800 block of County N in Washington Township for a two-vehicle accident. Paul D. Dahlgren, 34, Mount Horeb, was southbound on County N when he lost control of his vehicle due to the icy roadway, entered a ditch and became stuck. Brett Bluel, 28, Deerfield, was also southbound when he lost control due to the icy roadway, entered the ditch and hit the rear passenger side of Dahlgren's vehicle. Dahlgren sustained injuries but declined treatment. Bluel was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and released pending court.

• Matthew D. Rockey, 34, Juda, was cited for failure to notify law enforcement of a crash after deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident at 8:52 p.m. on Hein Road west of County F in Decatur Township. After entering a ditch and hitting a tree, Rockey fled the crash and did not report it. He suffered minor injuries. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• Allysann E. Sandner, 27, Delevan, was uninjured following a one-vehicle accident in the N6300 block of Wis. 69 in Mount Pleasant Township reported at 8:54 p.m. Sandner was southbound when she reported she tried to avoid a vehicle sliding towards her, causing her to hit a guardrail. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was pulled from the guardrail by a tow service.

• Deputies responded to five vehicles in the ditch Saturday, Jan. 11 throughout the Green County area. No damage or injuries were reported.

• Herlindo Hernandez-Ramirez, 37, Freeport, was cited for operating without a valid driver's license and operating without insurance at 3:43 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12. He was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Jan. 10:

• Connie J. Gutzmer, 48, Argyle, reported at 5:57 a.m. that she hit a deer on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.

• A deputy responded at 6:37 a.m. to Wis. 81 in Lamont Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

• Richard P. Bong, 24, Shullsburg, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance after a deputy responded at 6:37 a.m. to a one-vehicle accident on County W in Benton Township. Bong was traveling westbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to the slippery roadway and hit a small bridge guardrail and marker posts. His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
