Green County Sheriff
MONROE - Herbert D. Hanson, 69, Brooklyn, and his passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N7300 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn, at 5:19 p.m. Friday. Hanson was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit the front-end of his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.
On Saturday:
Kenneth R. A. Lomas, 23, McConnell, Ill., was cited at 6:48 a.m. for failure to report an accident to police and driving too fast for conditions after he fled the scene after his vehicle entered a ditch on County M near Hale Road, Town of Cadiz. Lomas reported no injuries and that he was southbound on County M when he lost control in a curve and his vehicle entered the ditch. The vehicle was moderately damaged. Lomas was released pending court.
Justin L. Badertscher, 26, Brodhead, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. for driving while intoxicated, first offense, after non life-threatening sustaining injuries in a one-truck crash in the W1400 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Spring Grove. Badertscher was westbound on Wis. 11 when his truck entered the north shoulder. The truck then went across the highway and into the south ditch where it rolled and came to rest on its side. Badertscher was transported via Monroe EMS to Monroe Clinic ER for treatment of his injuries. He was released pending court.
On Sunday:
Adair B. Bristow, 26, Monroe, was cited at 6:14 a.m. for failure to have control of a vehicle following a one-vehicle accident on Indergand Lane west of County N, Town of Monroe. Bristow was westbound on Indergand Lane when she reached a dead-end and attempted to veer right causing her vehicle to go over an embankment and into a wooded area where the vehicle hit a tree branch. Bristow reported no injuries from the accident. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was towed from the scene.
Susan E. Watrud, 70, Blanchardville, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on Wisconsin 39 at Poplar Grove Road, Town of York, at 10:09 a.m. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.
Michelle K. Becker, 48, Lena, Ill., and her passenger were uninjured after her vehicle hit a piece of metal in the roadway in the W800 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove, at 7:56 p.m. Becker was westbound when her vehicle hit a piece of metal in the roadway. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.
Megan E. Roach, 30, Greenfield, Ind., and her passengers were uninjured after her vehicle hit a piece of metal in the roadway in the W700 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove, at 8:27 p.m. Roach was eastbound when her vehicle hit the piece of metal. The vehicle received minor damage and was towed from the scene.
Emily A. Krause, 26, Albany, and her passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident in the N4500 block of County F, Town of Decatur, at 9:21 p.m. Krause was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit the front-end of her vehicle. The vehicle was severely damaged and was removed from the scene by the driver.

DARLINGTON - Thomas G. Crist, 46, Darlington, reported hitting a cow with his vehicle on Holland Road, Kendall Township, at 7:40 p.m. Saturday. Crist reported no injuries. The vehicle received a significant amount of damage and was towed from the scene.
Two people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on County B, Wayne Township, at 11:14 p.m. Sunday. Cody M. Kuhlmyer, 16, South Wayne, was westbound when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve and the vehicle rolled over. Kuhlmyer and a juvenile passenger both sustained injuries. Kuhlmyer was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. South Wayne Fire Department, South Wayne First Response, Monroe EMS and Argyle Ambulance assisted at the scene.

NEW GLARUS - Green County deputy Dustin Thompson was uninjured in a squad car vs. deer accident that occurred in the W8900 block of Wis. 39 at 8:09 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. The deer ran into the roadway and hit the squad car Thompson was driving. The squad was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.
