Monroe Police

MONROE - Andrew P. Nesbitt, 32, Monroe, was arrested for driving a vehicle while intoxicated after police were dispatched at 1:44 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20 after a utility pole was hit at 11th Street near Wisconsin 69 and the vehicle leaving the scene. Police located the vehicle near 17th Street and 4th Avenue West and stopped Nesbitt. He was also cited for hit-and-run property adjacent to a highway, failing to notify police of an accident and failing to wear a seatbelt. The vehicle had minor damages and the utility pole was completely broken off, knocking down utility wires. Nesbitt was released.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police were dispatched at 12:53 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 to 14th Avenue and 2nd Street for a report of a vehicle hitting a street light pole. Reports indicate that Dana A. Roth, 43, New Glarus, was driving a 2013 Chrysler 200 when she hit a New Glarus Motors sign pole on the west side of 2nd Street and then hit a street light pole on the east side of 2nd Street where the vehicle came to a rest. She was arrested for a first offense of driving while under the influence. She was transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle received severe damage. New Glarus Fire and New Glarus Area EMS assisted at the scene.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Injuries were reported during a snowmobile accident at 5:54 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 on the Badger State Trail, between County W and County CC, in the Town of Exeter. Two snowmobiles, one driven by Gregory P. Ihm, 54, Belleville, and the second driven by Michael K. Jell, 38, Belleville, collided with a tree limb that was hanging low over the trail due to snow and ice. Both subjects suffered injuries and was transported to an area hospital by Belleville EMS. The snowmobiles had moderate damage.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - A deputy located a vehicle in the ditch at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 on Wisconsin 126 in the Village of Belmont. As a result, the driver, Daniel J. Rupp, 46, Dodgeville, was cited for failing to keep a vehicle under control and for a fifth offense of driving after suspension. Rupp's vehicle was towed from the scene.

• A deputy assisted a motorist at 7:38 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 with a vehicle slide off on County P in Monticello Township. No injuries or vehicle damage was reported.

• No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 5:29 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 on Carr Factory Road in Benton Township. Daniel G. Leahy, 28, Shullsburg, was traveling northbound on Carr Factory Road when he lost control of his vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle entered the east ditch, where it hit a fence line. The vehicle had moderated damage and it was towed onto the roadway.
