MONROE - On Friday, Dec. 19:
Deputies responded at 11:26 a.m. to a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of County GG and Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Spring Grove. Timothy James Schadewaldt, 28, Brodhead, was traveling west on Wis. 11, east of County GG, when a pickup truck pulling a trailer, driven by Philip J. Shanks, 22, Harvard, Ill., pulled out from the stop sign on Wis. 81 at Wis. 11 into Schadewaldt's path. Shanks reported that his view was blocked by a semi unit in the area. Schadewaldt swerved to avoid a collision; his vehicle hit the concrete/asphalt island, then the concrete curb and embankment on the west side of the lane, coming to a stop. Schadewaldt received an injury but declined medical attention. Schadewaldt's vehicle received severe damage was towed from the scene. Shanks' vehicles received no damage as there was no contact. Shanks will be cited for failing to yield right of way from a stop sign.
No injuries were reported when deputies responded at 5:04 p.m. to the N8500 block of County D in the Town of Exeter Township for a deer vs. vehicle accident. Lori A. Yapp, 48, Belleville, was southbound on County D when she hit a deer. Yapp's vehicle received moderate damage to the driver side and it was driven from the scene.
On Saturday, Dec. 20
Deputies responded to a report of a truck vs. tree crash at 5:47 a.m. in the N2100 block of Haddinger Road in the Town of Clarno. Investigation revealed that Jason A. Flannery, 23, Argyle, fell asleep and failed to negotiate a sharp curve as he was traveling east on Haddinger Road. The vehicle left the roadway, hit a tree head on, and came to rest. Flannery fled the scene without reporting the crash. Phone contact was made with Flannery who indicated he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The accident happened at about 12:15 a.m. The vehicle received severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Flannery will be cited for inattentive driving, failing to notify police of an accident, seatbelt violation and non-registration of a vehicle. Monroe Police Department assisted at the scene.
Injuries were reported when deputies, along with Monroe EMS and Juda First Fire Department, responded at 12:20 p.m. to the W4400 block of Wis. 59 in the Town of Sylvester for a report of a vehicle roll-over crash. The vehicle was reported up against some trees and the driver out walking around. Investigation found that Eugene D. Boeck, 65, Albany, was westbound, negotiating an uphill curve, when he left the roadway on the north side of the road and traveled down the embankment and rolled over into some trees along the roadway. Boeck reported no injuries, but his passenger, Margaret "Peggy" Ann Boeck, 60, complained of pain and was transported by EMS to an area hospital. The vehicle received moderate damage to all areas and it was towed from the scene.
No injuries were reported when deputies responded at 12:45 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash in the W8200 block of Wis. 11 in the Town of Cadiz. Lindsey T. Champion, 18, Warren, was eastbound in the center lane. Melody J. Arnold, 44, South Wayne, was following Champion when Arnold moved into the right to begin to pass. As Arnold was passing Champion on the right, Champion proceeded to change lanes, hitting Arnold's vehicle. Both vehicles received minor to moderate damage and were driven from the scene.
