MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of County C and County N in the Town of Washington. Deputies report David L. Buholzer, 60, Monroe, was westbound on County C when a second vehicle, driven by Samatha A.M. Moore, 19, Monroe, failed to yield the right of way from the County N intersection. Moore collided with Buholzer, causing Buholzer's vehicle to overturn. The vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene. Moore was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign and released pending court.
No one was injured in a two-vehicle, hit-and-run accident at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at 108 Hotel Street, in the Village of Brooklyn. Deputies report a vehicle owned by Melvin F. Schneeberger, no age given, Edgerton, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The offending motor vehicle was located in the Village of Oregon by Oregon Police Department. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Cory E. Vukelich, 24, Evansville, by Green County Sheriff's Department, on charges of operating while intoxicated - second offense, operating with a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC. Vukelich was released pending court. The vehicles received moderate damage.
No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on County Y at County M in the Town of Jordan. Deputies report Elton G. Monson, 70, South Wayne, was westbound on County Y when he traveled through the intersection and struck a power pole. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene. The power pole was broken and caused the intersection to be partially closed for several hours. Monson will be cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Browntown Fire Department and Alliant Energy also responded.
