Monroe Police
MONROE - Gavin D. Wels, 24, and Jose Luis Chacon Salas, 48, both of Monroe, were involved in a two-vehicle crash at 4:59 p.m. Wednesday on 10th Street at 19th Avenue. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. Wels was cited for failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign. Salas was cited for operating without a valid license. Both were released pending court.

MONROE - On Wednesday:
• Elias S. Marion, 25, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 12:50 a.m. in the N6500 block of Holstein Prairie Road in the Town of Adams. No injuries were reported. His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene He was cited for operating while suspended and released pending court.
• Mitchel T. Hasse, 20, Monroe, was transported to Monroe Clinic with injuries after a crash with airbag deployment at 3 p.m. in the N3200 block of Aebly Road in the Town of Monroe. Hasse reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a deer, went into a ditch and continued into a cornfield. His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.
