MONROE - On Wednesday:
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 39 at County J, Town of York. Braydon M. Mahoney, 24, Freeport, was eastbound on Wis. 39 when a vehicle driven by Jean M. Massey, 34, Darlington, pulled into the eastbound lane after reportedly failing to yield the right-of-way. Mahoney took evasive action and was able to avoid hitting Massey's vehicle. Mahoney's vehicle entered the south ditch and hit a power pole before coming to rest in a cornfield. His vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene. Massey was cited at 8:54 a.m. for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign and was released pending court.
Gavin Scott Baade, 17, Brodhead, sustained injuries but did not seek medical treatment after his motorcycle crashed into a ditch off of Greenbush Road near Monroe Sylvester Road, Town of Monroe, at 9:39 a.m. Baade was westbound on Greenbush Road when he lost control of his motorcycle. The bike entered the ditch, where it came to rest. Baade was wearing a helmet and eye protection before the crash. The bike was moderately damaged and taken away on a trailer.
