Monroe Police

MONROE - Minor injuries were reported when officers responded to a one-vehicle accident at 12:57 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Wisconsin 69. A 16-year-old female, from Brodhead, was northbound in the 3000 Block of Wis. 69 when she hit a light pole. The vehicle received moderate damage. The driver was cited for not having vehicle windows reasonably clean and a violation of graduated driver's license restrictions. The vehicle was towed from the scene.



NEW GLARUS Police

NEW GLARUS - At 5:02 p.m. Friday, New Glarus Police received a call for a two-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of Wis. 69. It was determined that the crash was in the Green County Sheriff's Department's jurisdiction, and the call was handed over to it.

• Police responded at 1:43 a.m. Saturday, to the 900 block of 2nd Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that Karina Moen, 19, New Glarus, was driving a 1998 Buick Century when she hit a 2002 Audi belonging to Julia Xistris. No injuries reported.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Deputies investigated a vehicle at 8:13 a.m. Saturday in the N2000 block of Mount Hope Road in Town of Spring Grove. The driver of the motor vehicle had left the scene. Investigation determined that Scarmello Martel Sanchez, 27, Freeport, was the driver. Sanchez was northbound on Mount Hope Road at about 1:30 a.m. when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway and entered the ditch colliding with a road sign. The vehicle received severe damage to the front end and undercarriage. Sanchez will be cited for failing to report an accident to law enforcement.

• Injuries were reported at 8:11 p.m. Sunday when deputies responded to a vehicle accident in the N8000 County A in the Town of York. A truck driven by Jason K. Coy, 27, Blanchardville, was northbound on County A when it crossed the centerline. Coy side-swiped a car going southbound driven by Ryan T. Quinn, 18, Gratiot. Coy's airbag deployed and he received injuries. Ryan and his passengers, Lucas T. Quinn, 14, Monroe; Joseph R. Quinn, 17, Gratiot; and Joshua R. Quinn, 17, Gratiot, received injuries but refused medical transport. Quinn's front passenger and driver's airbag deployed. Coy was transported by ambulance to the UW Hospital. Coy's truck received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Quinn's vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene. The Blanchardville EMS and Fire Departments assisted at the scene. Coy will be cited for left of center and having no insurance.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• A report was taken for a UTV accident with serious injuries at 3:07 p.m. on Jones Branch Road in Belmont Township. Belmont Fire Department, Belmont EMS, Mineral Point Rescue and Rewey First Response were alerted to the scene. MedFlight was also called to the scene.

• No injuries were reported from a vehicle vs. livestock accident at 11:07 p.m. on County D in Fayette Township. Alan R. Crompton, 55, Darlington was unable to avoid striking a cow in the roadway. The 2008 Ford truck Crompton was operating received moderate damage.

On Sunday:

• A deputy responded at 7:36 a.m. to Wis. 81 in Elk Grove Township for a car vs. deer accident, no injuries.

• A deputy responded at 2:19 p.m. to Wis. 78 in Blanchard Township for a car vs. deer accident, no injuries.

• A deputy responded at 5:58 p.m. to Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township for a car vs. debris accident, no injuries.

• A deputy responded at 10:34 p.m. to Wis. 151 in Belmont Township for a car vs. coyote accident, no injuries.
