BRODHEAD - Several victims from Illinois were injured in a two-car crash just before 1 p.m. Saturday on County F, west of W. 3rd Avenue in Decatur Township, according to police.

At about12:59 p.m., Samuel T. Clark, 16, of Davis, Ill., was westbound on County F and pulled over to attempt a U-turn. After a vehicle went by him eastbound, Clark began to make his turn.

"Clark did not see another westbound vehicle being operated by Emma B. Gramigna, 16, of McHenry, (Ill.)," a Green County Sheriff's Department statement said. "Gamigna was unable to avoid the collision and struck Clark's vehicle."

As a result, Emma Gramigna was transported by emergency crews for injuries, as was a passenger of Gramigna's, Michele B. Gramigna, 52, of McHenry.

Gramigna's other passenger, Francis G. Gramigna, 47, also of McHenry, suffered injuries but declined medical treatment, officials said. Clark was the lone occupant in his vehicle and did not suffer any injuries. County F, police added, was closed from W 4th Avnenue to Park Road for about an hour due to the crash.

All those involved reported seatbelt use.

Clark was cited for failure to yield right of way when making a U-turn and released pending court. The crash caused moderate damage to Clark's vehicle and severe damage to Gramigna's.

Neither had airbag deployment.

In addition to the sheriff's department, responding were police from Brodhead and Monroe, as well as Brodhead Fire Department, Brodhead Area EMS; and Monroe EMS.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
