Theodore B. Mayer, age 85, of South Wayne, died on Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Union Grove V.A. Home. He was born on May 26, 1928, the son of Fred and Verza (Bissell) Mayer. He was a graduate of South Wayne High School. Ted entered the U.S. Army on July 2, 1946, serving in Korea and Japan, earning the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He sold Naval G.I. insurance in Japan for many years. Ted was a member of the V.F.W. in Japan.
He is survived by his former wives, Michiko and Matsuko Chen; sons, Steven Mayer of Minnitonka, MN, Ted Mayer Jr. of Lake Stevens, WA; daughter, Jessica Mayer of Everette, WA; nephews, David (Penelope Miller) Mayer of Monroe, Daniel (Dawn) Mayer of La Crosse and niece, Susan Jo (Steve) Neuberger of Menomonee Falls. He is predeceased by his parents; sister, Virginia Windsor and brother, Kenneth Mayer.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
