MONROE - A Fitchburg teenager arrested Wednesday has been charged with stealing a car from an address in rural New Glarus.
Quincy James Conners, 18, makes his initial appearance Friday on a Class A misdemeanor charge of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent.
He was also tentatively charged with driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, marijuana, and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
According to the Green County Sheriff's Department:
Conners and a 16-year-old girl took the vehicle from her home in the W5400 block of Windmill Ridge Road, just north of New Glarus. A parent reported the theft at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, and at 4:43 p.m. deputies located and stopped the vehicle in New Glarus.
The 16-year-old girl was referred to juvenile intake for charges of operating a vehicle without the owner's consent and possessing drug paraphernalia. She was turned over to a parent.
Conners was jailed. State court records show no previous adult criminal record for him.
