Tamara Pratt Kingman, age 54, of Rhinelander, died on February 7, 2018 at the Ascension St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1963 in Dubuque, Iowa to Kenneth and Elizabeth (Runde) Pratt.
Tammy was the youngest of eight children raised in Darlington, WI. She was a graduate of Darlington High School (1981) who later pursued a career in science. She worked at Promega Corporation as a scientist technician for over 24 years, and, obtained her Biotechnical degree at Madison Area Technical College (1998) along the way. She married and started her family in Monticello, WI (2000) where they resided for 11 years. In 2011, she then moved to the Rhinelander Boom Lake area to live by the lake with her family.
scientist, explorer, nurturer, and artist by nature, she often left us all with such focus on what can be discovered. Her enthusiasm and positive energy was unparalleled; whether it be cooking, gardening, science, mushrooms, waterfalls, or brewing, there always was this movement underway to another fun discovery shared by her side. Our realization today is that there will be many more discoveries, ones that Tammy really wanted us all to have without her, because she cared and loved to shape us so well to help us go on best without her.
Survivors include her husband Timothy, her children: Margaret (AJ) Grund, Emily Kingman, Isabella Kingman, and Ian Kingman, her siblings: Tony (Marsha) Pratt, Bonnie (George) O'Connell, Terry (Sue) Pratt, Noel Pratt (Glen Kielley), Sandra (Jeff) Bennett, and Kevin Pratt, nieces, nephews, other family and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by: Parents, John Pratt (infant brother), Mark Pratt (brother), and Joshua Pratt (nephew).
A memorial visitation will be held at the Carlson Funeral Home (134 N. Stevens St., Rhinelander, WI 53501) on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington, WI 53530) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating.
