Sylvia Pauline Moyer, age 93, of Lena, Illinois passed away on October 31, 2011 at Lena Living Center. She was born on April 29, 1918, in Clarno Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Dinse) Frenzel.
She married Kenneth L. Moyer on November 16, 1937, in Freeport. He passed away on June 29, 1986.
She was educated at West Clarno School and Brodhead High School, both in Wisconsin. She farmed along with her husband for 35 years. Additionally, she worked for Micro Switch in Freeport for 18 years until she retired in 1979. Other activities included a 4-H Leader for 11 years, Stephenson County Fair Board for 5 years, Sunday School teacher for 9 years, involved with Home Extension for 15 years, and waitress work. Her hobbies included playing cards, Bingo, crocheting, working with crafts, and helping other who needed assistance.
Survivors include Charlene (Frank) Jackson of Ferndale, WA; Beverely Lindenman of Lena, IL; Kendalyn Sherman of Drake, CO; and Kim (LouAnn) Moyer of Freeport, IL. Eleven grandchildren ... Laura Hartney (Tony Celletti), Christine Sawyer, Janet Lindenman (Kevin Pax), Tammy Sawyer, Debra Harder, Susan (Russ) Snyder, Lynnette Sawyer, Heath Moyer, Kenny Moyer, Kevin Sherman, and Jeffrey (Katie) Sherman. Four Great Grandchildren ... Nichole Betthauser, Brandon and Bradley Harder and Tegan Woods. Two Great Great grandchildren ... Hannah and Hailey Betthauser. Two sisters, Ruth Sitnek of Sun City, AZ; and Lois Von Moos of Arkdale, WI. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, step-mother Rosa Lena, Grandparents, two sisters ... Alpha Coplein and Doris Hawthorn; two brothers ... Roy Rhyner and Paul Frenzel; Grandson Matthew Moyer; two Son in Laws ... Clarence (Butch) Sherman and Earl Lindenman, and brother and sister in laws.
Visitation will be at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, Illinois from 4 - 7 p.m. on November 3, 2011. Private family burial services will be at a later date at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be directed to Monroe Clinic Hospice in appreciation of their caring support during this time.
