Stanley E. Nafzger, age 58 of Monticello, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at his home. Stan was born May 3, 1949 in Juda, Wisconsin, the son of Fred Ernest and Rose Irene (Lentz) Nafzger. He graduated from Juda High School in 1967. Stan married Mary Jo Clarkin on December 15, 1994 in Madison. He operated Stan's Dry Wall for 17 years, earning the reputation as a perfectionist with and excellent work ethic. He was a member of Grace Church in New Glarus and was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Nafzger of Monticello; a daughter, April (Josh) Kuenzi of Albany; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Natalie Kuenzi; his mother, Rose Nafzger of Juda; eight brothers and sisters, Ralph (Sharon) Nafzger of Monticello, Caroline (Stanley) Hawkinson of Brooklyn, WI, Jim (Joanne) Nafzger of Albany, Johnny (Teresa) Nafzger of Brodhead, Elizabeth (John) Lyons of Roscoe, IL, Fred Nafzger and Roy Nafzger, both of Juda, and Lorraine (Scott) Blumer of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Nafzger; and a sister, Lillian in infancy.

A celebration of Stanley's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Grace Church, 416 2nd Street, New Glarus. Pastor Roger Olson will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Stan's name to the Monroe Clinic Hospice. The VOEGELI-NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monticello, is assisting the family. Stanley's family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support.

Stanley was an amazing man who fought the courageous battle of cancer and he kept the faith even to the end. The victory was won for he is now at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus! Praise to our God.
