Shirley Irene Schmoldt age 77 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her home. She was born on April 28, 1935 in Browntown, the daughter of Arthur and Bessie (Brecklin) Haeft. Shirley graduated from Monroe High School. Shirley and Willis Schmoldt were married on December 3, 1955 in Monroe, Wisconsin.

Shirley was a Customer Service Supervisor for Swiss Colony, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and the Monroe Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and watching the Badgers, Brewers and the Braves. Shirley's biggest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Willis Schmoldt of Monroe; children: Jeffrey (Pam) Schmoldt of Janesville; Gary (Nancy) Schmoldt of Monroe; Wendy (John) Eberle of Monroe, Bruce Schmoldt of Monroe; Brian (Valerie) Schmoldt of Janesville; brother, Robert (Mary) Stauffacher of Monroe; grandchildren: Eric Schmoldt, Kevin (Kimberly) Schmoldt, Samantha (Christopher) Koncki, Kristopher Eberle, Rebecca Eberle, Jeremy (Molly Allen) Eberle, Everett Schmoldt, Alex Schmoldt, Carly Schmoldt, great-grandchildren: Ayden & Brody Kirichkow, and Brayden Eberle.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Eugene Haeft, sister, Arlene Fryer and brother, William Stauffacher.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Monroe United Methodist Church with Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the church prior to service.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Shirley's memory to the Monroe United Methodist Church, for use in the Children's programs.
