Shirley E. Rowley, age 81 of Monroe, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 4, 1933 in Lamont Township, Lafayette County, the daughter of Marvin and Winifred (Lee) Paulson Sr. She attended Darlington Schools. Shirley married Kenneth Rowley on August 23, 1957 in Darlington. She worked for Green County Pre-pack, later she went to work doing housekeeping at Gasthaus Motel and then Pleasant View Nursing Home. Shirley was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church, she enjoyed cooking, baking, helping others, but most of all spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Sandra Dahlen; granddaughter, Ashley Meier, all of Monroe; 2 sisters: Carol Hocking of Platteville and Barbara Benson of Monroe; sister-in-laws, Avis Lueck and Alice Egli, both of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Marvin Paulson Jr and William Paulson; a sister, Marilyn Cline.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Apple Grove Lutheran Church, with Reverend Dan Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Apple Grove Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
