Scott F. Salzwedel, age 49, of Brodhead, joined our heavenly father on Thursday, April 9, 2009 peacefully at his home, with his devoted wife, Sherri of 26 years, at his side. He was born on September 20, 1959, the son of George and Florence (Gerber) Salzwedel. He was a 1977 graduate of Monroe High School.
Scott was a welder for Kuhn Knight in Brodhead for 15 years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Rat "Riders Association of Triumph." Scott enjoyed the outdoors in many ways, motorcycling with family and friends, traditional archery, fishing with his son, and collecting antiques at auction.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri of Brodhead; mother, Florence Salzwedel of Monroe; son, Daniel Scott Salzwedel of Brodhead; daughter, Maggie May Salzwedel of Monroe; granddaughter - "Grandpa's special girl," Molly Tallulah Regenold of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Sue Ann Richardson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2009 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Cal Schaver officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to create a Natural Prairie Grass Land in Scott's name.
