JUDA, WISCONSIN - Sadie I. Scheidegger, age 78, of Juda, WI passed away from this life on February 25, 2012 in her home surrounded by her loving and admiring family. She was born February 28, 1933 in Freeport, IL. Sadie was one of eight children born to Chester and Cora Thelma (Roach) Strohecker. She married James D. Scheidegger on November 23, 1952 at the Freeport First Presbyterian Church. Together they farmed, operated a silo repair, and asphalt business. They raised seven children and shared 56 years of marriage. Sadie also manufactured door and cabinet hardware for Amerock Corporation in Rockford, IL, until retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness.

Sadie enjoyed crafting with her grandchildren, crocheting, sewing and creating unique and personal gifts for those she loved. She enjoyed the outdoors including gardening and landscaping. She loved to shop, play dominoes and a good game of euchre.

She is survived by seven children- Coreen (Randy) Podeszwa of Rockford, IL, Jill (Dean) Blakely of Brodhead, WI, Julie Scheidegger and James Kurt Scheidegger both of Juda, Kerry Scheidegger of Blanchardville, WI, Lisa (Jeff) Wahl of Juda, and Jenny Smith of Peosta, IA; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and five siblings- Dale Strohecker, Chester Strohecker Jr., Marian Mooney, Grace Schatz, and Delmer Strohecker.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband James on April 13, 2008, parents and two sisters Ella Mae Pehl and Opal Jarvis.

A private family service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.
