Ruth M. Kelley, age 84, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 25, 1933 in Waukegan, IL, the fourth sibling of five to James and Josephine (Washington) Grashen.

Ruth and Charles Kelley Jr. were united in marriage on January 6, 1958 in Waukegan, IL. Along with raising her children, Ruth also babysat and worked as a crossing guard in North Chicago.

Ruth, mother of 7, dedicated to raising her children, her calling was not higher education, but being obedient to the Lord; she made it a point to raise her children to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.

She was a member of the Monroe Bible Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles of Monroe; children: Lynda (Byron) Grassnickle, Michael (Bobbi Jo) Kelley, Ronald Kelley, Timothy Kelley, Teresa Kelley, Darin (Cynde) Kelley and Carla Kelley; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Minnie Grashen; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, and grandson, Arien Torey Peterson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Monroe Bible Church 2613 8th Avenue, in Monroe, WI; with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.

Visitation will be Friday, April 28th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at the church.
