Roy A. Petersen, age 90 of Brodhead, Wisconsin, died Saturday July 18, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born March 15, 1919 in Albany Township the son of William and Ida (Bernstein) Petersen and graduated from Brodhead High School in the Class of 1936.

Roy married Mildred June Keen on September 4, 1943 at Juda Evangelical Church. Roy was a core finisher for Fairbanks Morse in Beloit for 40 years, retiring in 1982 and was a Methodist Church custodian. He was a Brodhead area resident all his life. Roy was a member of Brodhead United Methodist Church and its Senior Choir, Fairbanks Morse Quarter Century Club, Brodhead Kiwanis Club, and was a diehard Cubs Fan.

Surviving are his sons, Kenneth (Marcia) Petersen of Brodhead, WI and Richard (Ann) Petersen of Germantown, TN; daughter, Kathy (Gregory) Kamps of Germantown, WI; and grandchildren, Korinn Petersen, Kimberly (Brenton Walker) Petersen, David Petersen, Laura (Kevin) Wilemon, Jennifer Petersen, Justin Kamps and Jordan Kamps. He was predeceased by his wife in November of 1988; his parents; sisters, Marie Petersen, Ruth Brunkow, Esther Lederman, Leona Bump and Mildred Pinnow; and brothers, Albert and Willis Petersen.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Brodhead United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Groves officiating. Family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (time of service) Tuesday at the Church.
