Rosemary P. Dueball

APPLE RIVER - Rosemary P. Dueball, 88, of Apple River, formerly of Warren, passed away at the Lena Living Center on July 14, 2008. She was born on March 23, 1920 in Wilmington, DE, to Jesse and Penelope (Scullin) Allen. On June 26, 1941, Rosemary married Gustav Dueball in Arlington Heights, IL. She was employed as a secretary at Highland Community College and at Ann's Catholic Church in Warren.

Rosemary was currently a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Apple River. She was also a member on The Highland Community College Board of Trustees. Rosemary enjoyed reading poetry and books and tending to her rose garden. She also loved dogs, especially Airedales.

Rosemary is survived by 4 daughters: Diane Dueball of Sandwich, IL, Faith (Bob) Weiffenbach of Oswego, IL, Madonna (Bob) Scalamera of Phoenix, AZ, and Stephanie Thompson of Warren; four granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and her dog, "Lucky," that she rescued.

She was preceded in death by her husband on November 20, 2002 and one granddaughter.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the funeral home in Warren.

Fr. Max Striedl will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Ann's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Highland Community College.
